Social Media in Developing Curriculum for PR at University

Education in PR is still one of the topics in the social network of public relations, India, as previously mentioned in my blog. The discussions were that the education on PR in India is not sufficient to handle the current PR Industry.

In the latest outcome, the Vice Chancellor of Anna University, Coimbatore has requested suggestions from PR point forum, one of the biggest and popular public relations social media network in India to develop curriculum of 8 papers of the one year PG Diploma course on Public Relations and Corporate Communication which is going to start at the university in June 2007.

With the help of Wiki, students and practitioners around the world can contribute their ideas/requests of what the course should comprise of.

This is the first time ever where a curriculum is prepared by the community through Wiki. We can see how much social media is developing in India.

To reach out to the mass audience social media is an important aspect of communication which every industry should look at. Furthermore, audiences of social media can see that the discussions which are happening have some productive out come, and how social media is influencing the World.

I would encourage everyone in the blogsphere, who are PR practitioners and students to contribute their ideas to this cause. You can put your views here.
